Experienced T700 mechanic. Must have at least 5 years of teardown, disassemble, inspection, and assembly on T700 or CT7 engines. Must work well with others and have a quality mindset. This position is located in Stroud, Ok.

Job Summary:

The ideal candidate will have the ability to effectively perform progressive inspections for various turbine engines and accessories on multiple product lines.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • None

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Conducts visual and dimensional tests to ensure quality of finished products
  • Determines and uses appropriate inspection processes to confirm assigned products and parts meet specifications
  • Confirms and approves quality of finished parts
  • Documents measured results throughout the Maintenance and overhaul process
  • Ensures proper completion of paperwork and reports documenting Maintenance, repair, overhaul and inspection procedures and findings
  • Performs other related duties as assigned

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Ability to operate hand tools, power tools and measuring instruments necessary to perform job assignments
  • Minimum one (1) year work experience in aviation maintenance environment, preferably on turbine engines
  • Must be able to meet FAA Part 65 (work, education, or a combination of both)
  • Demonstrated organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Must have manual dexterity required for technician
  • thorough knowledge of inspection and measurement techniques and equipment
  • Ability to read technical Data (Manuals/blueprints)
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient Computer skills including electronic mail, Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Must pass pre-employment drug screening and be available for random drug and alcohol screenings while employed

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Two (2) years of experience as an Aviation technical inspector preferred
  • A&P License preferred but not required
  • Honeywell, GE or Pratt & Whitney engine experience a plus
  • Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written or verbal English
  • Valid driver’s license required

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to lift 30 LBS

Key Responsibilities:

  • Use a wide variety of power and mechanical tools to perform functional checks on engine assembly and components.
  • Perform Dimensional and Visual inspections following standardized methods and established techniques.
  • This process may involve surface plate work or standard measuring techniques to verify the accuracy of parts, tools, gages, or other equipment.
  • Work from applicable written inspection procedures and engineering drawings.
  • Work with other pertinent instructions to plan and perform dimensional and/or visual inspection on parts, tools, gages and other equipment.
  • Accepting or referring material for rework or quality review based on findings.
  • Use a variety of fixed and variable measuring instruments, including automated measuring machines.
  • Program instructions are well-defined will be checking dimensions and record results.
  • Perform necessary mathematical computations to resolve the extent of nonconformance and complete appropriate paperwork.
  • Follow Proper procedures to perform in-line checks and verifications of dimensions and make sure that operation sheets are being followed.
  • Strong communication skills, self-motivated, and a self-starter. This position requires an individual who is detail-oriented. Accuracy in work performed is a requirement.
  • Physical requirements include being able to lift 50 pounds to a height of 4 feet and position self to perform maintenance.

Basic Qualifications:

  • High school graduate or GED
  • 2 years of formal training in power-plant mechanics and testing

  • A&P License
  • Experience working from complicated drawings, specifications, procedures, and instructions to fabricate, configure, install, remove/replace and set up a variety of power systems, components, modules, and associated equipment.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain certifications to operate powered industrial vehicles.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Receive job assignment from Supervisor / Lead.
  • Perform cleaning of engine parts and components.
  • Monitor chemical concentrations, calculate additions, and maintain records on chemical processing solutions.
  • Handle hazardous waste generated in the department and place waste into containers in accordance with hazardous waste management rules.
  • Work from applicable written inspection procedures and engineering drawings.
  • Follow Proper procedures and make sure that operation sheets are being followed.
  • Read and follow standard operating procedures, routings, blueprints, Manufacturing, Engineering and Quality Assurance specifications, equipment manuals and other instructions.
  • Set up and operate departmental equipment.
  • Stamp required information on the workpiece.
  • Check the quality of work and parts and operate the machine.
  • Maintain operating level of shot and chemical solutions in related equipment.
  • Load and unload parts.
  • Perform rework using the required tools and machines necessary.
  • Immediately report machine, gauging or process problems to the supervisor.
  • Oil machines as needed utilizing appropriate tools.
  • Other related duties assigned by the supervisor.
  • Move material between workstations and cells/areas as dictated by the manufacturing cell configuration and the nature of the part (by hand truck, hoist, etc.).
  • Attend training classes and cell meetings.
  • Where applicable, perform visual checks to assess minimal part condition for continued use. Understand the basic inspection techniques as part of a career development path.
